During school holidays we offer fun half or full-day horse riding programmes and overnight camps which cater to all riders, from complete beginners to the advanced pony club rider. Adults wanting to participate are also welcome.

Activities will vary depending on the ability and interests of the rider. Activities may include: farm riding, trekking, and learning horsemanship skills (i.e. how to catch, lead, brush & saddle your pony).

We NEVER cancel – rain, hail, or snow, nothing can stop us. However, activities may change for health and safety reasons.

While attending our holiday programs, you are based at “Hotel California”. This is where the main office and merchandise rooms are, including a full kitchen, bathroom, and lounge facilities. A cosy fire is lit on cold days.

Bring your swimsuits for those warm summer months. During the hottest part of the day, we all take a break – the ponies are put out in the paddock with ‘lunch’, and we enjoy the salt-water swimming pool and doing on adventures down in the bush and stream.

The emphasis is safe FUN so that everyone can have maximum enjoyment while learning new skills. As our aim is to nurture safe and confident riders. Horsemanship is an important part of this so we do teach these things in the lessons as well – so if they have never learned to saddle/bridle a horse, it will be taught as part of their time here. As they get more competent, so do the horsemanship skills that are taught.

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP

We focus on teamwork, character, and teaching respect, discipline, kindness, inclusion, resilience, perseverance, and the love of horses. At the Riders Academy we take our sport seriously. We want to achieve potential, and yes, we want to win too. While we train, learn and compete, we never lose sight of what’s most important. With this at the heart of all we do, we can be truly successful.

WE START OFF BY CATCHING AND BRUSHING OUR PONIES

and get them nice and clean before we tack them up. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do it! We will help and teach you. That’s a part of the program.

WE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE ON YOUR PONY

We have all different kinds of horses and ponies so can give you a perfect match that suits your age, size and experience with horses.

COME AND EXPLORE THE HORSE FARM WITH US!

We’ve got 50 acres to ride on and there’s heaps of things to do including farm rides and horse trekking, games, orienteering, treasure hunts, jumping logs and other cross country jumps
